Discussion:
Content Advisor can't be turned off

The content advisor keeps defaulting to the lowest ratings (the slider keeps
moving back) for all catagories. This doesn't allow viewing of any web-site
and must be manually re-set each use. I have adjusted the settings manually
and each time (clicking apply and ok) I launch the browser it defaults back.
I have run Norton Anti-virus and both Ad-Aware and MS spyware apps to remove
any malicious files (none found).

The content advisor also defaults the general setting to 'supervisor can
type a password to allow users to view restritcted content.' Manually
resetting the user option to 'user can see sites that have no rating' fixes
this temporarily but again defaults back to the wrong setting each time.

Once re-set manually, it allows normal web-viewing, but each time IE is
launched it requires the reset of the ratings and general user options.

Thanks for any help

Shut down Internet Explorer. Search for a file called ratings.pol. Rename
it ratings.old

You may need to reset your CA settings one more time.

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. Any other help would be most
appreciated

To go further, you will need to contact MS. You will probably need to nuke
CA completely by editing the registry, not something I wish to give
instructions about in the public domain.
